Girls Soccer | Lakeside wins Metro crown
Lakeside overcame a Seattle Prep goal in the first three minutes of the match as the Lions won the Metro League girls soccer championship, 2-1 Friday night at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
The Lions (14-0-4) will take the Sea-King 3A District’s No. 1 seed into the state playoffs next week. Seattle Prep (13-2-3) also advances to state. KingCo 3A champ Issaquah will be Sea-King’s No. 2 representative, and Holy Names and Skyline will play today for a fourth state berth from the district.
Pfeiffer Bloecker put Seattle Prep up 1-0 in the third minute, but Brett Eisenhart tied it in the 29th minute with an assist from Lakeside teammate Emi Lawson. The tiebreaker was an own goal in the 51st minute.
