Dailey’s OT goal wins it for Everett
EVERETT - A short-handed goal by Zack Dailey 31 seconds into overtime lifted the Everett Silvertips a 3-2 victory over Kelowna in Western Hockey League play Friday night in front of 6,359 spectators.
The victory ended a four-game losing streak for Everett and keeps the Silvertips in third place in the U.S. Division.
Kyle Beach scored twice in regulation as Everett (12-10-0) fought back from a 2-0 deficit. Beach has 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points this season.
Both goals came in the second period, with Zach Hamill getting the assist on the goal at 9:21 and Shane Harper and Jeff Regier assisting on the goal at 12:23. For Hamill, it was his 21st assist this season.
Leland Irving made 26 saves to earn the victory in goal for the Silvertips.
Colin Long and Kyle Benn scored for Kelowna (11-7-2).
Long got the scoring going quickly with a goal just 40 seconds into the contest and Benn made it 2-0 14 minutes later.
Kristofer Westblom finished with 21 saves in goal for the Rockets.
The Silvertips are home tonight against the Vancouver Giants at 7:05 p.m.
