Six beautiful homes will open their doors to the public Dec. 8 for the 30th annual Mount Baker Home Tour and Home Renovation Fair.

The tour and fair run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. from the Mount Baker Community Clubhouse, 2811 Mount Rainier Drive S. Tickets are $20 and include a map, home descriptions, shuttle transportation and entrance to the Home Renovation Fair and speaker series.

Tour-goers will also have a chance to see the newly renovated Mount Baker Rowing & Sailing Center, where refreshments will be provided.

Exhibitors at the renovation fair include Sound Woodworks, Eco Haus (formerly the Environmental Home Center), Rejuvenation Lighting, Ornamental Plaster, Norberry Tile, Cherry Creek Windows and Exteriorscapes.

All proceeds benefit the Mount Baker Community Club. Ticket vouchers are available for presale at Urban Vines, 3605 S. McClellan St., www.urbanvines.com, and on Dec. 8 at the sailing center.

Speakers for the series include:

• Ken Kelly: Vintage lighting designer and manufacturer who has accommodated the compact fluorescent option into energy-saving designs.

• Pam Worner: The owner of Green Dog Enterprises, a consulting firm devoted to promoting green building practices, will discuss demystifying green building practices, products and programs for homeowners.
